Word2007 cursor problem with Vista?

I'm running Word 2007 on a Vista machine and just started having problems with cursor interaction while editing a document. I cannot highlight, click to relocate the cursor or open any right-click menus.

Is anyone else having this problem with Word2007 or on Vista?

Last week I used Vista's disk defragment tool and it caused some Windows Mail display problems. See: Disk defrag removed my mail folders!!!

Is it possible that it caused this Word2007 problem also?
