Help needed in renaming a style

Every so often when I try to rename a style using the Organizer, the new name gets appended to the old name (with a comma separating the old and new names) instead of the new name replacing the old name. Any suggestions?

You cannot rename a built-in style just like Normal, Body Text, Heading 1, Footer etc.; any name you specify in the Modify Style dialog or in the Organizer gets appended to the "official" name. Where as it is possible to rename user-defined styles.
