Messages dissapearing in OutLook

Hi,
When I get a new message, view it, and click on another folder and then when I come back to inbox, the message is gone. I have set the archiving to move anything is 6 months old and there are no active rules. What is going wrong. I am using OutLook 2003. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Go to "View>>Arrange By>>Current View" and check "Messages".
