I'm using Frontpage 2003 (XP), and I'm having some problems that require some kind of explanation. Either Frontpage's "Design Mode" is heavily bugged, or I'm schizophrenic and suffering from blatant hallucinations. The main problem is using tables in "Design Mode."
For example: 1. When using multi-column tables in "Design Mode," Frontpage seems to have problems keeping the text in the appropriate column. It starts doing something crazy, like shifting the text all around the screen as I type. The final product (online webpage) isn't affected. "Preview Mode" shows that the webpage is okay, but it's a pain when trying to type in table columns using "Design Mode." 2. Table columns in "Design Mode" don't match the final product. Setting text in "Design Mode" never provides the same in the final product. The final webpage's text is shifted to the left by a quarter of an inch. 3. The bottom of the webpage does not match the bottom of the "Design Mode." In "Design Mode," the bottom of the page is lined up with the text, but the final product has the bottom of the page overlapping the last few lines of the text. When I add a couple of spaces to the bottom, the bottom of the final product is four times as wide as is portrayed in "Design Mode." One space at the bottom of "Design Mode" equals four spaces in the final product. I guess my complaint is that the final webpage NEVER matches what is viewed in "Design Mode." Why? What is the deal? Why is it that "Design Mode" does not match the final product? Last edited by cbatey : 04-12-2008 at 08:28 AM. |
