I'm an IT Lecturer and IT consultant from Scotland. I'm also a MMI (Microsoft Master Instructor) in Office 2000, 2002(XP), and 2003. I'm also studying for my Office 2007 exams. I hope I'll be able to contribute and help where I can.

I returned here out of curiosity today to see what was going on only to find the ban and the derogatory comment had been removed as you indicate above. What was that about? What had I done to get a ban?

Now I see. This is the kind of thing that gives forums a bad reputation.

Yes, its certainly a balancing act. On the one hand, you want members to be able to speak freely and quickly but to achieve that, human moderation is kept to a minimum. We have to trust our members to a certain degree to be civil and courteous.

Note to Jerlene:

However, I think we could have been able to filter out some of Troy2287's remarks. Jerlene, can you see if we can tighten up the spam settings on the forum to better filter such remarks?
